Legacy
I’m so pleased to share that my short story, Legacy, will appear in September in the Evening Street Review.
If you’re wondering what the wildcats pictured here have to do with the story, you’ll just have to read it to find out! Order Issue #39 of the magazine here: https://eveningstreetpress.com/publications/, or ask your public library if they can get a copy for you to check out.
Evening Street Review is the literary magazine associated with Evening Street Press.
“EVENING STREET PRESS IS CENTERED ON ELIZABETH CADY STANTON’S 1848 REVISION OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE: ‘THAT ALL MEN - AND WOMEN - ARE CREATED EQUAL,’ WITH EQUAL RIGHTS TO ‘LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.’ IT RECOGNIZES THAT ALL PEOPLE ARE CREATED EQUAL AND FOCUSES ON THE REALITIES OF EXPERIENCE, PERSONAL AND HISTORICAL, FROM THE MOST GRITTY TO THE MOST DREAMLIKE, INCLUDING AWARENESS OF PERSONAL AND SOCIAL FORCES THAT BLOCK OR DEVELOP THE POSSIBILITIES OF A NEW CULTURE.”
The cost of an issue is $16 + $3 shipping and handling. The money supports the magazine (it does not go to me), a worthy cause in and of itself in this time of dwindling access to thought-provoking literature. Ordering copies is also lovely for my writing credentials!
